Two locals are 'Good Food' finalists

Amid the renaissance in American charcuterie and spirits, Crested Duck Charcuterie and Boyd & Blair made it to the finals in the three-year-old Good Food Awards. Only two Western Pennsylvanians were included. The field included a number of mega-star artisan producers. The San Francisco-based program claims a sustainability factor -- "Redefining Good Food: Tasty. Authentic. Responsible." Awards will be given Jan. 18 in five regions of the United States to food producers and the farmers who produce their ingredients. Winners will be named in nine categories: beer, charcuterie, cheese, chocolate, coffee, confections, pickles, preserves and spirits.
