Here's what's dishing this week on the blogs we follow:

At Simply Romanesco, I'm getting into the cookie season with glorious Cranberry Double-Chocolate Cookies. They're loaded with flavor and, guess what else -- chocolate! Who can resist them?

Michelle, the Brown Eyed Baker, also is diving into the holiday season with a generous list of 120 Christmas cookies and holiday recipes, plus homemade Twinkies. Maybe we'll eventually stop mourning the classic snack cake.

Chef Chuck serves us Cedar Springs Mini Veal Pastry Pies on the Pittsburgh Hot Plate. A nice switch from the Thanksgiving turkey.

Finally, the girls from eatPGH announced the annual Lawrenceville Joy of Cookies Cookie Tour, which runs today, Nov. 29, through Sunday, Dec. 2. And they also checked out The Elbow Room in Shadyside, where they ordered a very large Chicken Burger and Almond Crusted Tilapia. Two solid choices.

See you here next week!
