Here's what's dishing this week on the blogs we follow:
At Simply Romanesco, I was smitten with homemade fudgy Brazilian Chocolate Truffles. I loved them so much that I made nearly a hundred candies this week including a grown-up version with Amaretto liquor. What a treat!
Michelle, the Brown Eyed Baker, baked an array of cookies including easy-to-make Peanut Butter Cup Cookies, Homemade Torrone (an Italian candy made of nougat and almonds), and delicious Snowball Cookies.
Chef Chuck served us an Italian savory dish on the Pittsburgh Hot Plate – Pasta Carbonara. Thick and creamy and loaded with bacon. And he also checked out Cucina Bella in Bridgeville where he ordered a delicious house salad and an outstanding wood fired oven margarita pizza with pepperoni. I'll have to put this restaurant on my list. I'm wondering if anyone else tried this restaurant and what you thought of it. Please report!
Culinary Cory shared with us a Wild Berry Spinach Salad with Balsamic Vinaigrette, which he prepared during a cooking demo at Marty's Market. Simple and delicious!
Finally, the girls from eatPGH revisited Thai Cuisine in Bloomfield after the restaurant was remodeled, and were impressed with both the décor and food. What do you think of the recently improved Thai Cuisine? I'd love to hear from you!
See you here next week!
