Here's what's dishing this week on the blogs we follow:
At Simply Romanesco, I'm getting into the holiday spirit with traditional Romanian pretzels with sesame seeds and Parmesan cheese. Romanians love to nibble on Homemade Pretzels before diving into the pork dishes so popular at Christmas.
Michelle, the Brown Eyed Baker, made some addictive Reindeer Chow and a Cheesy Sausage Spinach Breakfast Casserole. Two great treats for the holidays!
Chef Chuck spoiled us with an entire Christmas menu on the Pittsburgh Hot Plate: delicious Christmas Ham, the Ultimate Chocolate Chip Coconut Cookies and Gingerbread Pancakes.
Bill from Three Dogs BBQ introduced us to Moink Balls, which are little meaty treats packed with lots of flavor and wrapped in bacon. Delicious and perfect for the holidays or ... any day of the week for that matter.
The girls from eatPGH paid a visit to Alla Famiglia restaurant in Allentown that might serve the best Italian food in Pittsburgh. Would anyone like to challenge that? The girls ordered dishes such as Gigantic Meatball stuffed with fresh mozzarella and served on a bed of tomato sauce for appetizer, a crisp salad, the Alla Famiglia Vodka Sauce pasta, and the Filet Mignon Gorgonzola. A very generous meal!
Finally, I would like to congratulate Leah from The Brazen Kitchen for being voted in the Top 50 Vegetarian Blogs by the Institute for the Psychology of Eating (IPE). A great accomplishment for her and for Pittsburgh. Congratulations Leah!
Merry Christmas everyone and see you here next week!
