This week, we're starting an early Thanksgiving countdown to help you kick off the menu for the upcoming holiday. Here's what's dishing on the blogs we follow:
Guess who's coming to Thanksgiving? The Steelers' Brett Keisel is, at least in the form of Streusel Apple Pie. If you prefer cookies instead, Liz from Stiller Snacks also baked sweet Jerricho ButtersCotchery Cookies that would look great on your holiday table!
On the slightly savory Thanksgiving side, Chef Chuck from Cooks and Eats put a twist on the regular stuffing recipe and prepared a Sweet Sausage Stuffing with Cornbread, Apples and Pecans, and the Brown Eyed Baker shared a generous list of Thanksgiving recipes to jumpstart your menu planning.
If you think that turkey time is still far away and beef is your thing, you can try the mouthwatering Orange Balsamic Slow Cooker Roast that Katy made in her BakingDomesticityandAllThingsMini kitchen, or the delicious Pumpkin, Sage, Sausage and Leek Stuffed Flank Steak that Linda from Dinner Plan-it put together.
On the restaurant scene, Yum Yum dined at Olive Or Twist, D&T: in the burgh checked out The Pub Chip Shop; and Eat Street pointed out that Oakmont Bakery's pumpkin macarons are a mighty bargain at $1 each now through December!
Last but not least, the girls from eatPGH launched their second book entitled Pittsburgh Chef's Table. And if you want to party with them, join the girls at Marty's Market on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 7 to 10 p.m. Congrats!
