100 favorite food things

The January/February issue (already?) of my favorite food magazine, Saveur, arrived in my home mailbox last night, and it's not to be missed.

The annual Saveur 100 issue lays out a spread of the staff's and contributors' favorite food things. The theme this time around is the "travel edition: our favorite places, tools, ingredients, cookbooks, recipes, restaurants and more."

I read each and every item last night, learned a lot, and made mental notes of several things I'd love to try in my own travels, from a real California Hangtown Fry to Professor Fritz Briem Grodziskie Beer.

Also cool: On Page 6 is a big ad for locally based DeLallo.

One of my PG colleagues just saw the magazine on my desk and asked if he could have it.

Umm, no.
